Bible in 90 days day1- God had said

Gen 12:1 The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you.

 I underlined the words 'had said' because that's my point of emphasis. God had spoken to Abram before now he was not just hearing this instruction it had come at an earlier time. but he did not act on it only until after the death of his father did he fall back on an instruction he had been given . I wonder what caused him to delay that obedience, could it be his brother's death that had occurred earlier?or possibly the brother had been sick before he died and Abram couldn't have thought of leaving at that time it would have been considered callous of him, or was it because he needed to stay behind and help his grieving aging  father, now that there were just two of them left? they needed to pull more weights around the house? or was it that he needed to complete the marriage rites with Sarai. or again was it just good old fear of the unknown? hmmm i read this verse and pondered how many of us have heard one specific instruction or the other from the Lord but for one "genuine" reason or the other we have failed to act on what we have heard. there are businesses we know we should have started long ago(guilty as charged) there are places we know we should have been, people we should have spoken to, or even prayers we should have prayed but we allow our unwanted friend fear to paralyze us and keep us from doing that which the Lord has spoken to our hearts we are waiting for a great sign. hmm i say lets not wait till we are stripped of our seemingly prized possessions until we come to the place empty before we move to obey, rather as we receive the instructions lets be bold enough to trust that the one who has spoken is faithful to bring it to fruition all He wants is our complete obedience!!!

 Lord make me a doer of your word and not just a hearer! help me to have complete obedience that i might eat of the good of the land!http://stampinwithjulie.blogspot.com/2010/06/salt-challenge-obedience.html

So its the eve of the kick off for the 90 days bible challenge, and excitement is in the air. the ladies cant wait to get reading. someone said that for anything you do you should view the end even before the beginning, so here i am viewing the 90th day, seeing the finish line. looking past and beyond whatever things may want to drag us down and seeing the get together organised just to celebrate our victory. wow i hear the glasses clinking the laughter the joy, look at all the fun we are having. it was worth it these past 90 days we are the better for it. and we are mighty glad we went through it. all we ask sweet spirit of the living God is for our spirits to be open to yours all through the days so we might receive from you. it is the Spirit of the word that we want and not just the letter because the bible says the letter kills, but the spirit gives life.Take us over Holy Spirit, make us over through this experience and journey through the Word.

I will...His Will!!

“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.John 17:24... have you ever wondered what God's will is for you?... well you can start from here (King James version actually reads 'I will')... knowing that after having received eternal life,(verse 2)...it is His will for you to be with Him to see His glory and the purpose of that is to as a mirror, reflect same...isn't it a wonder how we go around carrying the weight of the world on our shoulders when a life of glory is God's will for us ...he wants it that way we are not forcing him to give it to us, we are not begging for it, its His will... why not have a turn around and begin to reflect on what ways to best reflect His glory...for you are a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor. i think any institution that decides to advertise or put their wares o display, would...
